Havenco on the rocks?
Oh no, one of my favourite things in the wild and wonderful world of information technology and international boundary law may be in trouble.
Apparently Havenco, the internet server colocation company that ran from the country of Sealand, a rusty anti-aircraft platform located in the English channel, has problems. Ryan Lackey is the guy who used to run all the tech stuff and he has quit and released a statement or something saying that it’s all over. The Havenco people have officially denied this, but the Havenco people are mostly the Sealand people, and the Sealand people are mostly ex-British serviceman and their kin. Not really IT folk. Here’s the story (from Online Casino News of course).
If anyone wants, I have a great mp3 file of a talk Lackey gave at an IT conference a couple of years ago when everything was Diet Pepsi and helicopter rides.
