convergence of purchased-into revolutions

The Fedex man came today. In squamish, the fedex man is a slightly lower rent variety of fedex man, grey haired and sporting a carhartt vest, jeans etc and driving a mid-90s unbranded minivan. I would not in fact have known he was the fedex man except for his sweaty fedex ballcap.

Which is fine, I’m all for low rent squamish fedex men. Especially when bearing parcels addressed to me.

In the parcel was my new (well, newly refurbished) digital camera. Here is the first picture ever taken (well, by me) by my new(ly refurbished) camera.

I think it’s a good one. Presumably because it’s of my new ukulele. It’s a materialistic friday for me.

I’m amazed as always at how little time it takes for federal express to get a box from New York New York to somewhere in BC. Under 24 hours if my math is correct. Begin the joint revolutions! Maybe I’ll have to hire some Joint Revolutionary Chiefs of Staff.

If you still don’t beleive the ukulele is an artifact of revolution, read this article from the London Times (!) or far more convincingly, visit the Ukulele Freedom Front, which incidentally wins the statuette for most deeply moving piece of barely-believable cultural detritus I’ve come across in as long as I can remember.

Andrew B. Played ukulele on the porch of the neighbors’s shack last and I danced and played spoons. Dancing and music can lift me out of this world. No wonder corporations try so hard to control the music scene. All it takes is a friend playing ukulele to feel absolute freedom.

Then Sarah told me all our dumpster dived food was gone. We had three visitors from Ashville NC and we had to feed ’em. Poor people always share their food, that’s why they stay poor! So it was back to reality no food just four strings and the truth.

Living without electricity in the school bus is peaceful. Music sounds better when you haven’t heard a radio of TV for a month.

The peas we planted are coming up! Grow your own food, make your own music live for your friends. Invite bus living ukulele playing drag queens along on your band’s tour!
