I was doing a little narcissistic poking around some of my old entries. I’ve noticed something: they’re better. I seem to have lost some writing ability lately. My prose has been getting, ahem, purple. Mr. Coukell would have some advice.

Theory 1 is that it’s because I was away from writing all summer and having this little writing excercise really does help me. Theory 1 doesn’t quite work because there’s nothing much wrong with the post-planting entries from last year. Another good hypothesis shot down by controlled experimentation.

Theory 2 doesn’t exist yet. Maybe my brain has peaked and is declining.
