bookfinder and the mountain goats net
further to the hyperphysics post, some more recommended websites.
- bookfinder.com is a comprehensive and well designed search tool to find the cheapest place online to buy any given book. It searches new and used sources simultaneously and lists the results by price. It’s mercifully uncluttered by advertising (so much so that I’m not clear why it exists), brings in decent results for out-of-print material, and retrieves descriptive information about used books to aid comparison shopping.
I have in my hand a copy of 501 Spanish Verbs, in very good shape, $3. Thanks bookfinder.com.
- The newly redesigned themountaingoats.net will be completely uninteresting, unless you are a fan of the band The Mountain Goats. If you are, it will be interesting. Until recently it was the definitive source for show dates, discography, lyrics and articles about tMG, and it was green on black. Today I noticed that it was black on white, had all of it’s old features and is a growing source of chords for tMG songs. Not to take credit for other people’s work, but I can’t help wondering if this has something to do with my complaints to tMGs mailing list that I couldn’t find tabs and a certain webmaster’s response that he thought there should be an effort made in that direction…
Somebody give me a Squeaky Wheel Award, and throw something to the guy who runs www.themountaingoats.net too, it’s hard to get around to improving when you are the obvious best, but he done gone done it.
