BMC Ecology: an Open Access ecology journal
Open Access News has linked to my previous post about that fine blog, and this has certainly made my day. As a result of the link, I recieved an email from Matthew Cockerill, technical director (and co-founder) of BioMed Central suggesting I consider submitting future work to BMC Ecology, one of BioMed Central’s journals. A quick look at their statement on Open Access confirms that they are a prime example of a living breathing genuinely open access pub.
How great, is that, an extant OA ecology journal! Does this mean there are other OA journals quietly breeding in the corners without my knowledge? What a lovely thought.
I am pleased that Dr. Cockerill chose to email me with “ecology, remote sensing and open access” as his subject line. The deepening of ties between ecology and RS is one of my own longer term goals, and it’s nice to think that people involved in ecological publishing (particularly of the OA variety) are open to RS. Really nice.
