new year, new stuff from me and others
I’m pretty happy that the new year has coincided with the publishing of a couple of things that I have contributed to in some way, yay.
First off: the brand new heavily reworked version of tree-planter.com has gone online. It’s no longer flash based (fucking flash) and consequently faster loading and incidentally easier to navigate. It also has heaps of new content including… a whole bunch of photos from me. In fact, the 4 across the top of the front page are all outa my summer season. Is that cool or what? Good work Scott at tree-planter.com (and Bushpro, and Advanced Safety Management Ltd.) and hey, good work me.
Secondly and pretty damned exciting to me anyway: received the following email forwarded from a co-author:

conditions in two co-occurring conifer species: Pinus edulis and Juniperus
monosperma,” has been accepted for publication in Remote Sensing of
Environment. Thank you for making the necessary revisions.
….
We appreciate your contribution to RSE and look forward to receiving other
papers from you in the future.
Sincerely,

It’s just a little over two years since I finished the first draft of that damn paper very early one morning in a lab in California. Seems like yesterday. Turns out fourth time really was the charm, they’ve actually accepted this version, and it’s going to really be published in a real journal. Good work Shawn, good work Dave, good work Susan and yep, good work me.
