Here at hughstimson.org we are Committed to Excellence in Moving Forward. Generally, I’m very discouraged by the number of organizations who have failed to publicly state their commitment to excellence. At the University of Michigan however, there are a thrilling number of enterprises willing to step up to the plate and take a position on wether or not they are committed to excellence. In fact, it’s fair to say the entire university is. From our President, Mary Sue Coleman,

One of the many reasons I am delighted to be a part of this university community is our commitment to excellence in all areas: scholarly endeavors, health care, creative ventures and public service.

That’s extraordinary, tens of thousands of faculty and staff and students all pursueing excellence in the same place at the same time. I am excited to be part of this emerging revolution of excellence. I think we can realistically expect results shortly.

I hereby publicly challenge all organizations people and groups to match or exceed the hughstimson.org commitment to excellence.

In the meantime I am making a list of organizations who have not committed to excellence at all or at least named themselves after it and I will be submitting it to the central party for review.
