Everybody’s Bloggin 2: Chiron Bramberger
In addition to these fine people, another of my friends has made the fashionably belated move into episodic literacy. Chiron Bramberger is now blogging, and it’s presumably about damn time. Chiron was with me back in the early 90s when we would speculate in posts on Collingwood area BBSs how this new “Internet” might work. For those who have forgotten or somehow never knew, a BBS is a Bulletin Board System, e.g. a computer in some kids bedroom which your computer’s modem would connect to by dialing his phone number. Yes, we owned modems before the internet hit.
But I digress. The point is Chiron’s early adopter greek credentials are long since established so it only makes sense that he should have one of these vanity-micro-publishing outfits we call blogs. Also have a look at his lovely photographs of Toronto from traffic, and macro work on natural and non-natural objects. Chiron’s explicitly focusing on using existing web2.0 type applications to build his publishing empire so he’s running on blogspot, flickr, myspace etc. It makes my little integrated homepage look a little bourgy. How do you spell bourgy?
Full disclosure: hughstimson.org was a christmas gift from Chiron back in the day and for years it was subhosted by him. I’m still grateful.
I am flattered that his new homepage design looks just a little llike mine, if you squint at it from a distance maybe. And in case you were wondering, the qoute attributed to “All Good Things” would be referencing the so-named episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. But apparently, on chironbramberger.com, that goes without saying.
