The Coeur d’Alene ironman competitors went into the water 6 hours ago and they’ve just now started transitioning from the bike race to the running marathon. We’re lounging around in Jasper Blake‘s house and watching the online stream on his flatscreen, while Jasper himself is grinding away in Idaho in 7th place about 16 minutes off the race leader. He’s considered one of the two strongest runners but the other guy has better than 8 minutes on him at the start of the foot race.

Less than 3 hours to go.

Watching an ironman event is grueling.
