Sorry about the title. Kieran Healy links and jux­ta­poses some Marxist and Smithist eco­nomic theory regarding spe­cial­iza­tion in the con­text of a set of pho­tographs of Chinese toy fac­tory workers. Its a good trick and one that I, not being an econ­o­mist, don’t see don’t very often.
