Once again I missed celebrating one of the big two of the year’s four natural holydays: the summer solstice. It was (I think) 3 days ago. Occasionally I catch one of them but all the major societies I’m associated or in touch with seem to ignore all 4 of them. What’s up with that?

I did get out for a walk around the inner harbour at around 3:30 in the morning of the 22nd and there you go: it was already getting light blue in the eastern sky.

Oh yeah, I’m in Victoria these days. As the stand up comedians say, it’s good to be here.
